Excitement builds for this year's BCSO Youth Concert!

Young brass, woodwind and percussion players from the Bucks County Youth Symphony and Tamanend Middle School are getting ready for their appearance on Dec. 6 with the Bucks County Symphony and special guest Carol Jatsch, principal tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra. But not only are the kids excited, so are I and the members of the BCSO!

I just finished today my orchestration of Rimsky-Korsakov's The Flight of the Bumble Bee, the wickedly difficult solo part of which Ms. Jantsch will play on her tuba! We'll give it a run-through at rehearsal tonight, sans tuba, to get the kinks out. Hopefully we'll be able to keep up with Carol when she joins us for rehearsal in December.
