The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 Helen Buckman Awards, presented annually to an orchestra student at each Central Bucks high school who demonstrates exceptional dedication, leadership and musical ability.

Abigail Duimering played cello in the CB South Orchestra, Chamber Strings, and pit orchestra, flute in the Concert Band, and bassoon in the Symphonic Band. Admired for her leadership, musicianship and kindness throughout the CB South music program, Abigail served as an officer in the Tri-M Music Honor Society during her senior year.

Violinist Grace Stevens was the concertmaster of the CB East Orchestra and Chamber Strings. She was selected for several years to play in the Bucks County Music Festival. Described as an incredible asset to the orchestra and to the entire CB East community, Grace was involved with a Distance Learning initiative, teaching skills to CB elementary students via video demonstrations.

Carleyrose Wagner was an active member of the CB West Orchestra, Chamber Strings, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Her music teacher praised her unwavering commitment to music and to her fellow musicians, her encouraging spirit, and her love of music, recognizing her as one of the West orchestra’s strongest leaders. She will minor in Violin Performance at Shippensburg University.

The BCSO congratulates Abigail, Grace and Carleyrose for their outstanding achievements in high school and for their commitment to musical excellence.
