Recipients of the Helen Buckman Awards for 2021

The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 Helen Buckman Awards, presented annually to an orchestra student at each Central Bucks high school who demonstrates exceptional dedication, leadership and musical ability.
Natalie Repper excelled in many facets of the CB West Music Department. She served as concertmaster in the Orchestra and violinist in Chamber Strings, Harlequin Club pit orchestra, and West String Quartet. She was a member of the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band, drum major in Marching Band, and an officer in Tri-M Music Honor Society. She will study music composition and business at West Chester University.
Violinist Theo Shultz was a dedicated member of the CB South Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and pit orchestra for Titan Thespians productions. He displayed a deep passion for the musical arts, and has been a section leader in the Orchestra, violinist in the Bucks County Musical Festival on multiple occasions, and a member of the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County. Theo will major in Music Performance at Temple University.
Galen Sutterlin was violist in the CB East Orchestra and Chamber Strings, in which he served as a leader, soloist and officer. He was selected to play in the Bucks County Music Festival for six years, PMEA District Orchestra during his senior year, and pit orchestra for Patriot Players musicals. During the pandemic shutdown last spring, Galen created mentor videos for younger students. Galen will attend Penn State University Schreyer Honors College to major in Biotechnology and Business.
The BCSO congratulates Natalie, Theo and Galen for their outstanding achievements in high school and for their commitment to musical excellence.
