The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra presents its Family Concert at Central Bucks High School South in Warrington, PA.
Maestro José Luis Domínguez and the BCSO will present a lively and dramatic performance around the theme of animals, centered around Saint-Saëns’ beloved musical suite, The Carnival of the Animals.
The BCSO is pleased to feature its Youth Concerto Competition prize winner, 12-year-old violinist Mio Imai. Special guest instrumentalists will be the string players from Central Bucks elementary schools under the direction of Donna Hartzell.

Youth Concerto Competition First Prize Winner, Mio Imai
Mio Imai (13), a Grade 8 student of the University Scholars Program – PALCS, studies violin with Kimberly Fisher, principal second violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Mio first performed as a soloist with the New York Session Symphony at the age of 9, followed by appearances with Rowan String Ensemble of Rowan University, Temple University Youth Chamber Orchestra, Old York Road Symphony, Ambler Symphony and Main Line Symphony Orchestra. She performed as soloist with the FVG Orchestra in Italy, where she won 1st prize in Il Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition for Young Violinists in 2023.
Mio won 3rd prize at the US MTNA National Competition in 2022, 2nd prize at the Leonid Kogan International Competition (Belgium) in 2021, and 3rd prize at the Chicago Violin International Competition in 2021. She has played in masterclasses with renowned violinists Ida Kavafian, Karen Aroutiounian, Robert Chen, and Juliette Kang, and with the Takács Quartet.
Mio plays chamber and orchestral music in the Center for Gifted Young Musicians Program at Temple University. Besides music, Mio enjoys crafting, painting and skiing.
