The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra presents its Family Concert—Sweet Suites and Musical Treats—at Central Bucks High School East, as narrator Valerie Eastburn entertains the audience with captivating stories and fun facts while the BCSO plays nuggets from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and other enthralling pieces.
The BCSO is pleased to feature its Youth Concerto Competition prize winner, 13-year-old cellist Elijah Song of Warrington, PA, and the Central Bucks East Wind Ensemble, which will perform with the orchestra.

Youth Concerto Competition First Prize Winner, Elijah Song
Elijah Song (13), an 8th grade student at Tamanend Middle School, plays cello in the school’s String Ensemble and piano in the Swing Ensemble. He participates in the Chess Club, UNICEF Club, STEM Club, and Reading Olympics.
Elijah’s musical journey began at the age of 5, and he currently studies under the guidance of Priscilla Lee, Associate Principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is a member of the Young Musician Debut Orchestra and the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra. Since 2020, he has been an active member of the Grace Chamber Music Youth Club, dedicated to raising awareness about disabilities and raising money for that worthy cause. He has had the honor of performing several times at the Special Olympics Montgomery County Fundraising Concert. Additionally, Elijah takes pride in his membership in the Global Music Partnership since 2021. He frequently performs in concerts within the local community alongside his pianist mother and his violinist sister as a member of the Song Trio.
In recent competitions, Elijah was selected as a recipient of a scholarship from the Warminster Symphony Orchestra. He was awarded 2nd place for piano in the 18th Young Korean Musicians Competition and 1st place for cello in the 19th edition. Additionally, he achieved 2nd place at the Opus Music Competition.
In his free time, Elijah enjoys tennis, soccer and Lego building.
